. ^ - ^ . So where do you fit in? Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Discovering where you fit in will allow you to prepare yourself for success or give you a better understanding of what needs to change. Whether you?re an optimist or a pessimist is really determined by how you see things. For example when it comes to setbacks ? do you see them as temporary or do you see them as permanent. An optimist sees setbacks as temporary ? and something that they can and will overcome. This setback is seen as a one-time event and has no impact on their future and will not effect their chances for success when they try again ? it also does not have any impact on any part of their overall life. An optimist will not see a setback as something personal ? they see a setback as something that simply happened and they deal with it by making the right adjustments, learning from the setback and trying again. A pessimist sees the setback as permanent ? something that they cannot overcome ? they feel that it is part of their life and that it was their destiny ? they were doomed to fail. Most pessimists will likely give up as a result of the setback. A pessimist will also take a setback personally ? feeling that somebody was out to get them and that they were being targeted by someone. A pessimist also sees setbacks and disappointments as something that is part of a problem in all areas of their life ? setbacks are part of their life because that?s the way it is and there?s nothing they can do about. . ^ - ^ .
